National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC) Next Available Dates: 13 April to 14 April 2026
The National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC) prepares swimming teachers and coaches to safely supervise swimming lessons and respond effectively to poolside emergencies.
This practical two-day course is ideal for programmed lessons in pools where learners are out of their depth and equips candidates with essential lifesaving, first aid, and class management skills relevant to a teaching environment.
What you’ll learn (2-day course)
- Pool and class management
- Intervention and rescue techniques
- Emergency action planning
- CPR and first aid
Course prerequisites
- Swim 50m on front and back
- Surface dive to the deepest part of the pool
- Climb out unaided (no steps or ladders, venue permitting)
National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) Next Available Dates: 30 March to 3 April 2026
The NPLQ is the industry-standard lifeguard certification. This physically demanding 5-day course covers pool rescue techniques, first aid, CPR, and lifeguarding theory, preparing you to supervise and protect swimmers with confidence.
